History

Krishnaguru Sewashram, Nasatra, is a 500 year old satra. A Satra is a Vaishnavite Monastery, an institutional center that is unique and special to the Ekasarana tradition. Mahabaishnab Manohardeva, the ardent disciple of Damodardev established this satra. around 500 years ago on the bank of Suvarnakur, an eternally flowing spring, the creation of which is shrouded with supernatural stories. Nasatra is around 16 miles from Barpeta. Divine powers of this satra spread far and near within a very short time. After the demise of Manohardeva, his successors continued to run  the satra. At the time, the area surrounding Suvarnakur, was covered with thick jungles and it became a habitation of ferocious tigers and poisonous snakes.

Continuing with the tradition of forefathers, one of the pious devotees Sant Rabidev, took up the responsibility of running the Nasatra Dham. In his days also, supernatural deeds of Parameswar Narayana were revealed at Nasatra Dham. To rescue the people from the sins of Kaliyug and redeem their souls with spiritual guidance, Param Purush Narayana incarnated as Krishnaguru on the Ashtami Thithi in the month of Jaistha (the second month of the Indian Calendar) in the year 1934. Since his childhood, Krishnaguru Prabhu started showing his divine powers. He brought about much needed reforms in Sanatana Dharma which was polluted by freeing the society of superstitions, introducing constructive activities aimed at the welfare of society. and making all of this possible by showing us the correct path of EKA SARANA salvation.  In the year 1974 and in the month of Agrahayan (the eighth month of the Assamese Calendar), on Ras Purnima day when he attained 40 years, Paramguru Krishnaguru Ishwar set up Krishnaguru Sewashram at Nasatra which, at that time, was covered with thick jungles frequented by ferocious tigers. From that day onwards, Krishnaguru Mahaprabhu preached Krishnaguru Eknam among the people belonging to various religious faiths

The main aim of Paramguru Krishnaguru Ishwar is to establish a society which is spiritually oriented so that, with the foundation of such a society, global peace can be ensured to all humanity. It will be a society where there will be no discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, religion and community.Ishwar. Through the bhaktas, Krishnaguru nam and the divine powers of Krishnaguru Prabhu Ishwar have spread far and wide  to different parts of the world. Saintly people of various parts of the world came to know about the incarnation of Paramguru Krishnaguru Ishwar and his supernatural powers. They  came all the way, to Krishnaguru Sewashram  for initiation from Krishnaguru Mahaprabhu into Krishnaguru Eknam and upon returning thereafter are now implementing the ideals of Paramguru Krishnaguru Prabhu across the globe. As a result, within the last 35 years, Krishnaguru Sakha Sewashrams have been set up in West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan,  Delhi, Orissa, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura apart from Assam. Steps have now been taken to set up Krishnaguru Sewashram outside the country. At present, there are altogether 90 branches of Krishnaguru Sewashram inside and outside the country.
